Changelog

New features, improvements, and fixes — roughly in the order they shipped.

June 2026
New Song Transposition — Pitch-Shift Audio & Chords

Change a song's key without re-recording anything. Open a song's Audio card and hit Transpose — pick the from and to keys and LightLoop pitch-shifts the track to match while preserving its tempo. When you attach audio, LightLoop also auto-detects its key in the background. The original file is always kept, so revert is one click. Pair it with Sync to Audio so the stage chord chart follows every key change automatically.

New Chords on Stage — ChordPro with Smart Key Detection

Add ChordPro [chords] to any song and they render above the lyrics on stage and confidence displays — the TV Wall Stage Display and the iOS Remote's Stage Mode — while the audience screen stays clean, lyrics-only. LightLoop reads the chords and detects the key with real music-theory scoring (it uses the dominant chord to tell a key from its relative minor — Em C G D → G, Bm D A G… → D), then lets you set a separate Display key so the whole chart transposes on the fly. Chord charts and the "Next" slide preview transpose too.

New Overlays — Watermark, QR Code & Weather

A new Overlay playlist item action floats a layer in any corner, above everything except the countdown banner. Pick a Watermark (a logo, sponsor mark, or "live" bug from your library, with adjustable opacity), a QR Code generated from any link (custom colors and an optional caption like "Scan to give"), or live Weather for a ZIP code. Show it for a single item or leave it up until cleared — so your church logo can ride across an entire playlist. Renders on Apple TV, TV Wall Program output, and the shared preview page.

New OSC — Two-Way Control & Lighting Cues

LightLoop now speaks OSC (Open Sound Control) over your local network, both directions. Inbound: drive playback on an Apple TV from a lighting console, show-control system, or an app like TouchOSC — next, previous, play/pause, or jump to any item or song slide. Enable it per-feed; each Apple TV shows its IP and port on screen and in the web dashboard. Outbound: attach OSC Cues to a playlist item that fire the moment it goes live — a clean "go" trigger for your lighting console. Define reusable targets once in Settings, then reference them from any item's actions.

New Playlist Attachments — Hand-outs Teachers Can Download

Attach files to any playlist — lesson plans, game ideas, print-outs — right from the Share dialog. Anyone previewing the playlist sees a Downloads list on the preview page and can grab the files before pressing play, no account required. Attachments work with both Public Preview Links and Share with Another LightLoop Account — when a playlist is shared to another account, its files come along.

New Sermon Builder — Your Whole Message, One Item

A new Sermon content type lets a pastor or presenter build an entire teaching, talk, or presentation as one item — an ordered list of mixed slides: styled text and notes, scripture, full-screen media (with blur fill, trim, and stop/loop/advance), and blank slides. Add a background behind text slides and a title card for blanks, build it with drag-and-drop, then advance slide-by-slide from the iOS Remote. Renders natively on Apple TV and in TV Wall mode.

New More Bible Translations — 1,200+ Across 1,000+ Languages

The Bible translation picker now includes a second source — the Free Use Bible library — below the YouVersion presets. Search 1,200+ public-domain and openly-licensed translations across 1,000+ languages, many unavailable anywhere else. A reliable fallback when a YouVersion translation is temporarily down, and the way to display non-English scripture.

New TV Wall Output — Four Outputs From One Apple TV

Drive four independent 1080p outputs from a single Apple TV using a low-cost 2×2 HDMI wall controller. Enable TV Wall Output on any feed, then assign each quadrant: Program Output, Stage Display, Media (independent looping image/video), or Empty.

Overlay quadrants render song/Bible Lower-Thirds, plus an Overlay Alpha (DSK) mode that outputs the lower-third as a solid-white fill matte on black for downstream keying in ATEM and other switchers — so one Apple TV can feed your audience screen, a confidence monitor, and a livestream key/fill at the same time.

New Lower-Third Templates

Reusable, per-user templates for song and Bible lower-thirds, built in a visual drag-and-resize editor on a 16:9 canvas. Define text zones (Bibles get independent reference and verse zones) with shrink-to-fit text, full styling, per-zone box backgrounds (color, gradient, or looping media), borders, corner radius, padding, and transitions.

New Stage Display Countdown Timer

A new Stage Only countdown option on playlist item actions shows a speaker/pastor timer only on stage displays (Remote Stage Mode + TV Wall Stage Display) — never on the audience output. It counts down live each second and can run into overrun. Stage Display quadrants also gained a live clock.

May 2026
New LightLoop Remote — iOS Companion App

A free iPhone and iPad app that connects wirelessly to a nearby Apple TV running LightLoop. No account required — connection happens automatically over your local network using Apple's Multipeer Connectivity framework.

Control Mode — browse all playlists, tap any item to trigger it on the Apple TV, and monitor a live 16:9 preview of the TV output. Song items expand inline to show all lyric slides; Bible items expand verse by verse. A timeline scrubber handles video and audio seeking.

Stage Mode — a large-text confidence display for worship leaders and speakers. The current slide fills the top of the screen; the next slide or item is previewed below. Navigation via tap zones, swipe, or Bluetooth page-turner.

Improved Bible Item Thumbnails in Apple TV Grid

Bible items now display their configured background image as a thumbnail in the Apple TV playlist grid, consistent with Song items. Previously Bible cards showed a generic placeholder icon.

New Songs — Synchronized Lyric Slides

A new media type purpose-built for worship lyrics. Create a song in the web-based Song Editor — type your slides, link an audio track and background, then record timing markers in real time. Lyrics cross-dissolve on your Apple TV in perfect sync with the music.

Full style controls: font family (Google Fonts), size, weight, italic, all-caps, color, alignment, vertical alignment, drop shadow, text stroke, and a text background color/opacity for contrast over busy visuals. Requires Apple TV app version 1.1+.

New Marker Editor — Waveform Timeline for Songs

An interactive waveform timeline for fine-tuning lyric timing markers. Drag orange handles directly on the audio waveform, zoom from overview to sample-level detail across 5 zoom levels, select a marker and nudge with arrow keys at ¹⁄₃₀ s (33 ms) steps, and watch a live slide preview with cross-dissolve transitions as you scrub.

New Text Background Color for Song Lyrics

Song style settings now include a text background color and opacity. Adds a colored panel behind lyric text — useful for readability over high-contrast or motion-heavy background visuals.

New Birthday Displays — PCO Check-Ins & Kidddo

A new media type that renders a full-screen birthday roster on your Apple TVs — automatically. Connect to a PCO Check-Ins event and LightLoop finds everyone in that event whose birthday falls this week or this month. Choose portrait or landscape, show or hide avatars/age/birthdate, pick a Dark or Light theme, and optionally upload a custom background image.

For Kidddo users, birthday data accumulates as children check in via webhook — no PCO account required. When a child with a birthday this week checks in, the slide re-renders and updates on screen within seconds. Choose a Dark or Light theme overlay that works with your background.

Integration Kidddo Webhook Integration

LightLoop now supports instant Welcome Party triggers via Kidddo's webhook system. Unlike polling-based approaches, the webhook fires the moment a child checks in — no delay, no polling interval. Set it up by generating a webhook URL in LightLoop and pasting it into Kidddo → Settings → Printers → Webhook.

New Add Media Modal in Playlist Editor

Replaced the old drop zone in the playlist editor with a proper "Add Media" modal — searchable grid of all your media, sorted by most recently added, with multi-select and bulk-add. Select one or many items and click "Add Items" to append them to the playlist in one shot.

Improved Optimistic Remove on Playlist Items

Clicking the ✕ to remove an item from a playlist now hides it immediately rather than waiting for the server response. If the request fails, the item reappears with an error toast. Makes the playlist editor feel noticeably snappier.

New Cross-Organization Content Sharing

Share playlists and media items directly with other LightLoop accounts — no file transfers, no re-uploading. Generate a share link from any playlist or a bulk media selection, send it via email or text, and the recipient clicks to accept. Content lands in their account ready to use.

Set an optional expiration date and the shared content is automatically removed from every recipient's account when the date arrives — ideal for VBS kits, denominational events, worship series, and camp media. One link can be claimed by any number of organizations. Revoke at any time from the Share modal.

New QR Code TV Activation

Connect an Apple TV to a feed without typing anything. The setup screen now shows a QR code alongside the manual Feed ID field. Scan it with your phone, pick a feed from your account, and the Apple TV connects automatically — no remote, no keyboard.

Uses a secure UUID activation code with a 10-minute expiry. Works from any network — the phone and TV don't need to be on the same Wi-Fi.

Integration PCO Media Import

Import video and image files directly from your Planning Center Media library into LightLoop — no downloading and re-uploading required. Browse your PCO media, select what you need, and LightLoop copies the files into your library ready to add to any playlist.

Integration PCO Services — Songs & Playlists

Pull your worship song set directly from a Planning Center Services plan and turn it into a LightLoop playlist in one click. LightLoop fetches the plan's item order, matches songs already in your library, and creates stubs for any new ones. Re-import as the plan changes — existing items are reused, not duplicated.

April 2026
Integration Planning Center Check-In Monitor

A new display type that shows a live roster of who's checked in via Planning Center — updated in real time. Great for hallway TVs and volunteer stations where staff need to see who's in the building at a glance.

Integration PCO Calendar Display

Lobby and hallway TVs can now display today's schedule pulled live from Planning Center — service times, events, and room assignments. Automatically refreshes throughout the day. No manual updates needed.

New Item-Level Action Soundtracks

Individual playlist items can now trigger a specific soundtrack when they appear on screen — not just the playlist-wide soundtrack. Configure an action soundtrack per item in the web dashboard. On Apple TV, the player only restarts if the triggered soundtrack is different from what's already playing.

March 2026
New Background Soundtracks

Assign a music playlist to any content playlist. LightLoop will play it on loop in the background while the Apple TV displays your slides and videos. Controls for volume, shuffle, and loop are in the playlist settings panel.

New Countdown Timers

Set a countdown on any playlist — when time expires, LightLoop automatically transitions to the next playlist. Combine with a background soundtrack and a looping slide deck for a complete pre-service experience that runs itself.

February 2026
New Welcome Party — Planning Center

LightLoop's Welcome Party feature now works with Planning Center Check-Ins. When a child checks in via PCO, a full-screen celebration with their name appears on every Apple TV in the room — automatically, within about a second of check-in.

Improved Offline Media Caching

The Apple TV app now pre-caches all playlist media in the background so screens keep playing even if your internet connection drops. Media updates sync automatically when connectivity returns — no manual refresh needed.

New Google Drive Sync

Connect a Google Drive folder to LightLoop and its contents become a live media source. Add or remove files from the folder and LightLoop picks up the changes automatically — no re-importing, no re-linking.
